Eyes in the Sky

Birds in our skies with electronic eyes,

Flying alone but reporting to home,

Taking pictures of you, and yes of me too,

Watching our lives while it swoops and dives,

It’s a game for some few, but not me and you

As privacy falls so do our walls,

Then their judges get through,

To bring sentence on you,

Not just for what, you think they got you,

But scariest of all, for what they think you may do.

Fighting the Egocentric Army

Worry, concern, compassion for ones fellow human beings, has faded. The manufactured, self-centered, egocentric army advances. As well as the societal filters that blind us to the suffering of others, and the growing inequity within our own systems of belief. With little notice or commentary, the populations of advanced countries are guided to their own self-absorbed doom. Led as they are, even in times of crisis, to accept the manipulations of the media. Even answering the call for increased consumption of goods, propagandized as the public’s duty. This “duty” going almost completely unquestioned. Because those that do question, receive the media’s label of anti-American. Or worse.

Just the promotion of these actions to the public, serves to advance an intolerant view. Between disinformation and the advancement of a competitive consumer culture, you have a less informed population willing to stand in a line. Sometimes, for days. Simply to replace a still workable and functioning gadget, with a slightly revised version of the same product. Never taking into account, they already have and own the same product.

It’s manufactured madness. A condition which allows specific concerns, to tell the public who they are, by what they believe and consume. It allows for the stifling of dissenting opinion, and sets the mark between the in and out, the haves and have not, the popular in crowd, and those to be considered outside the excepted norms. It divides a population, because a united population is a danger to the dominate systems power.

Government, finance, and business worldwide, can’t survive in their present form, if a united front, of an educated populace, not distracted by entitled consumerism, or a feeling of needing to keep up with the Joneses”, truly grows in numbers and voice. If awareness grows, concerning the actions of the manipulative mainstream media. The public might speak out against the dumbing down of information and the reporting of half stories. The public could begin to see how media corporations edited news stories and choose advertising that fits the media company’s corporate agenda.

The conversation about a media created, first world, programmed consumer culture, must continuing. It is key to ending its folly. There are many unread news sources, columns, and bloggers, opining on the same issues mentioned here. I am proud to add my thoughts and words to the others, with continued posts on this subject.

I want the best for my fellows, and that includes truth. One person at a time, is how to break the hold on the public’s psyche. The possibility of my words, added to the other voices, helping one person to change their perspective and point of view, away from the self-absorbed doom, is why I continue writing.

Education, The Fourth Estate and a Totalitarian Future

I’ve been called an information sponge. I, however, consider myself only a watcher. A spectator, who studies the nature of man . Having in my life, dealt with many suffering from psychotic schizoid dissociative borderline paranoid delusional, personality disorders. The symptomatology of each of these psychiatric circumstances, are the elements I use to judge micro and macro information disseminated to the public by the fourth estate.

I’m just getting used to being a critic. I think it’s helped over the last two years, that I’ve sat as a panelist, reviewing literature for an award. This has been a quality experience, and plays nicely into my inclinations to check up on the mainstream press. A group definitely needing a bit of oversight.

Like our economy here in America, the press also works on a trickle down philosophy. Dumbed down false stories, partial  stories, celebrity stories, sound bite disinformation, and propaganda are the tools used now by our fourth estate. They create a daily spectacle for the people, holding the line given by those they are beholding to for access. This falls into access to basic press briefing, personal interviews, and even insider tips.

The fourth estate being chained to these, their sources, in no way allows for  a dissemination of  accurate unbiased reporting of fact. It only allows for the status quo presently in place, to continue its campaign of dumbing down their viewer the voter and the country.

The worst of it is, if you look at the state of education and the impotence of the fourth estate to inform with actually facts not opinion based spin, sets up a catastrophe in the making. A poorly educated, ill-informed public is they easiest to manipulate.

It will be those young and coming of age who will be the most effected. I think if we love our children maybe we should step away from the propaganda of mainstream disinformation. It’s easy to do in these day we live now. The Internet here, is a blessing. The Internet can also be a blessing in your child’s, “No Child Left Behind” education. Especially considering a no child left behind class, learns at the pace of the slowest among the classroom of students. I call it an, “almost all children left behind” policy. Net time can help this, in a time where schools can’t afford text books for each students use. A condition causing few, to no text books, to ever be brought home for further study.

What I wish most is a return to a skeptical public. As opposed to the sheep like acceptance slowly coming on the wings of poor education, and a beholding fourth estate, that is a growing sector of manipulation, and dare I say, flat-out lies. No change to this present trends of the fourth estate and education , leads to a quietly created totalitarian government.

Just thought I’d throw this opinion out there, to kick around for a bit.

More Sales Trips Aboard

This is an interesting quote, from the Congressional testimony of Gen. David Petraeus, on March 16, 2010 . “The conflict foments anti-American sentiment, due to a perception of U.S. favoritism for Israel,” (Petraeus said in prepared testimony). “Arab anger over the Palestinian question limits the strength and depth of U.S. partnerships with governments and people’s in the [region] and weakens the legitimacy of moderate regimes in the Arab world. Meanwhile, Al-Qaeda and other militant groups exploit that anger to mobilize support.”

I thought this statement was quite revealing , when looking at the Gaza-Israel situation today. Especially as the operations continue to escalate. It shows in this statement alone, that these conflicts we are involved in, or are US approve of, are set to continue, no matter the sentiment of the people. The destabilization of an entire region will continue, as it’s desired by those who influence our policy makers.

It seems the Managing Editor for Reason.com, Tim Cavanaugh, was wrong in his statement on October 2 2012. In a television interview Tim stated, “The Military is not a Jobs Program”. It’s clear now, his sentiment wasn’t heard by the powers that be. The only group possibly pleased by an increase in international conflict, has to be the Military Industrial Complex.

I’m sure the citizens of The United States and Britain, will see their top military and political officials, making even more sales trips abroad than usual, for their country’s military and defense contractors. We have to keep that fake economy, based in military conflict, Exploding.

Unrestrained extravagant senility, infatuated with its own emotions and feelings, that’s John McCain. Or he would have shown up for the closed door session, where Gen. Petraeus was giving testimony. Briefing our officials as too his thoughts, and the details behind  Benghazi. No, he was complaining about the lack of information on Benghazi  in a press conference, during the General’s testimony. Go John!!

Comments from the Projects – Now You Know Me

When I was young, I spent a goodly amount of time working in the projects. I have seen things no one should have to see. I have even turned my head to wrong. There are times, even now, when guilt from my lack of strength then, can haunt my nights sleep.

I got along with the street gangs. When you are the only employee working a grave yard shift, in a C-store in the projects, there is really no other choice. Using my nickname, made things easier as I settled in to the job. We, meaning some of my regular customers and myself, had made an agreement, that worked until the very last day of my employment.

C-stores worker seem to be close to the top of the list, of the most dangerous jobs in America. I can say that’s probably close to true. You see, I’ve been shot at, and held at gun point, more than once. I’ve been robbed. I’ve taken a gun from hands of an angry man, who was about to commit an act of violence from which there is no return. I have also provided first aid to victims of drive by shootings. Showing I can be strong. But, I have looked the other way while rock cocaine was sold, and at times while violence was committed on others. All this, at the time, to save my own worthless hide. Even though it compromised my own moral and ethics.

There are many memories from this time, I would give much to not think of anymore. The scenes in my mind’s eye, are too much even now. Watching someone punch through a car window, to drag the driver out through the shattered glass, for reasons unknown to me. This I won’t forget. Running down a thieves and fighting in the streets, were never actions I thought I’d be participating in. The job I had though, placed me in stores that were troubled, or where in a previous shift the clerk had been beaten stabbed or shot. That was the job I did for Southland corp.

I was working one evening with some undercover officers. They had taken a position with a line of sight into my store. I had a walkie-talkie, so we could communicate. That night there was a fight in my parking lot. I stepped out of my store, and walked right into the SH*T. By the time the officers arrived, I had been in a fight with a man who I didn’t get the better of. I found out later from the officers, he was a “gang-banger” from Chicago. The bad part of it all, was when I went to court. They had a man there to stand for the charges, but not the right man. I’ve had this feeling since then, in regards to that precinct, that any black man they could put up to stand for the charges, was good enough for them.

Another late night work experience I’ve had, was on weekday. It was at the 2am mark. In this state, at 2am, alcohol sales stop for 4 hours. Resuming sales at 6am. There were two men on my beer aisle this day. They had an altercation, but I’ve never been certain as to what. Both, making no purchases, headed out of the store. One of the men was walking briskly up the street. The other had gone to his car. When he got to his car, he pulled out a gun and turned to aim it at the back of the man walking up the street. My gut turned and I hit the double doors. I was out in the lot now, with the angered gunman. I yelled to get his attention as he had already pointed the gun. With balls I didn’t know I had, I walked up on him and took the gun from his hand. I dropped the clip, cleared the chambered bullet, and striped it down into pieces, before I handed his gun back to him.

I’ve only put down a few experiences so far, but now I want to tell about the last day I worked the job.

It was a Friday night, and my friend was in the store after his shift. Standing in line to buy his usual. I single 16 oz. can of beer. He always stopped on his way home. Many times we had time to talk, but that was only when my business was slow. He was the head waiter at a restaurant called “The Blue Max”. This night though, my store was packed with a mix of folks. Even a few gang members who were known to me, were in the store too. My friend was standing in line and said hello, that’s all just a simple hello, to a female customer who was also in line, waiting to make a purchase. I didn’t know the female shopper was one of the SSL members girlfriend. On the hello, all hell broke loose, and the riot and looting began.

My friend was attacked and beaten by the gang, while other members held me back. They poured the boiling chilli and cheese on him. They tossed him into a display of Budweiser 12 packs.

Held back, I watched my store clear of people and goods. The only people left in the store were my self, my friend, and 2 gang members. They corralled him, working up and down the isles. He made it to the last aisle. He was almost free and through the door. Then the real violence started. One of the gang members had taken a glass jar of Taster Choice decaf off the shelf. With one person left between my friend and the door, the coffee holder ran up behind and broke the glass jar over his head. My friends head was split right open, in a long and wide gash.

There was only myself and my friend left in the store. I gave what first aid I could. He was transported to trauma center for care. I was to later find out it had taken 56 stitches to seal the wound. After the police and medics left I cleaned the store. Mopping began by smearing the red blood all over the floor. I pulled the damaged, bloody products, from the shelf.

I never went back to that store or the company after that night. I testified on tape, and 3 went to jail. One for attempted murder, I was told back then. The truth after all is said and done is, I’ve not been the same man, since that day.

I am jaded and effected each day. Small things, a word, a smell, a look, and I am back in the hood. Seeing all the things no one should see, even those who live in the hood. The anger and hurt are with me, it never leaves. I judge myself. I am guilty of not doing all I could to change these outcomes. But know, you all bear some responsiblity too.

Remember we live in this world together, and have made life as it is over time. We’ve gone about doing this by exactly method I judge myself for. We turn away, closing our eyes not wanting to see the truth. We say it’s someone elses concern, when it’s not. It’s all of our concern. As we live our comfy lives, in our nice homes. Seemingly, in safe neighborhoods. Blinded to the real world.

Know this. It isn’t better than it was, it’s worse. Gangs and violence haven’t gone away. It morphs and grows. It’s coming for us, because we choose to turn our heads. It’s coming for us, because we believe it’s someone elses problem.

I don’t want you to end up like me. Heed my advice, acknowledge this issue. Don’t stick your head in the sand. I want you to do what I no longer can, I want you to be able to sleep at night. Be well. Do what you can to change yourself, change the situation, and change your world.

In Need of a Lecture

I see, a point of breaking has been reached. I wonder about the logic, behind the reaction. I have to question the  decisions taken around the world, presently. I’m not sure we can leave anyone out at this point. Nor can we not acknowledge the position we hold and the part we play. We can’t, in understanding our place, refuse to place responsibility where it belongs. Understanding our place, admitting our culpability, and exposing the culpability of others, where justified, while changing our own policies, would be a strong step forward. Policies we’ve held for sometime, have only been expansionary, as we occupy to increase in our influence.

I’m not sure of this incidents timing. I’m forced here to look at this, knowing that the stated reasoning for “counter attack “ could be any number of convenient, pre-prepared reasons. Reasons the could be used at anytime, with no one questioning the logic, here in the west. So why now? Answer. It further destabilizes the region.

We have the same policy strangely with Saudi Arabia. You see political and social oppression for physical gain, is practiced there. As it is in Israel. We support them both, generally without question.

With the advance of history, and the years, we’ve lost any moral high ground ,we were once able to claim. We only help to advance those in the world, if they subscribe fully to our system democracy. And those who we influence, rightly or wrongly, have exactly zero experience with democracy of any kind. Let alone, an americanized version.

What freedom is it that we are trying to provide? From what I can tell, freedom is the freedom of markets, not freedom for the people. Freedom for the people would mean they could take all the time they needed to get their own country in order. When our brand of freedom really means, allowing corporations to come in and steal resources for pennies. Pennies, when compared to the resources real value. Resources the country we’ve targeted for freedom, might have built its future on. Resources stripped from them with sweetheart deals, bribes and payoffs, for air tight contracts. Left behind for those people’s freed? Toxicity and Destruction, for generations to come.

I can’t support a foreign policy and economy based in corporate greed and military expansionism. That doesn’t even come close to the moral high ground, our country should be working to regain. That is, if we are to be part of the world in the future. We must understand our number has weight, but there are other countries with larger populations. Throwing our weight around may work for now, but continuing to do, as we have, paves our road to the future with more and more bumps and ruts .

We are struggle to stay on top. We should be struggling to regain what our decision makers have thrown away. with their poor choices, over the last dozen years. Whether you think the words just or ignorant, the mistake was to not take the words spoken by George W. Bush, “We are going to mount a crusade”, to their fullest extent. Now here we are 12 years later, on the verge of war on all fronts. Why? Because we won’t change. Because changing means admitting our policy errors, and what’s been wrought from those errors.

If our country had a mom, we’d be getting such the lecture about our behavior.

From Complex to Simple

I find it an oddity in human beings, that procrastination is always the choices, when it comes to taking and making important decisions.. As individuals most of us do fine by the percentages in the management of life. As complexities build, by adding individuals to these groups. The management of the group system becomes more complex, the larger the count of individuals within the group grows.

From there, each movement of that group, as a whole, becomes weighted with added complexity to the management system. There are many and varied examples, if one thinks for a moment. When the groups finally are confront from within, most are too large to easily change, for the needs of their members. Clubs committees religions business government, and many other group archetypes, are these systems of giant complexity.

These Mega-systems are long to change, quick to respond, structures. Some are so large, the decision making process is a fettered one. As apposing individuals within the group posture, the progress comes to a stop. Compromise is lost to the large group. With individual concerns, for progress to actually take place, the problem of the group has to come to the point, where if nothing is done, the group will fail. A point of so much pressure and pain, the T.I.N.A belief, (There Is No Alternative) truly applies. A breaking point of assured destruction.

If you doubt this, I recommend taking a look at the issues around the world, being managed by these Mega-groups. International and sovereign governments business banks and social control like media, are some of these huge systems, and their overall failure, not to mention the lies, fraud, broken laws, false wars and buddy bailouts, all fit this Mega-model.

Not one of these Mega System, can any longer benefit from one good idea. It simply gets lost in the buzz of these system. Destine if anything, to be watered down altered and made complex. After all that, it may never again see the light of day.

Complex system are fully our problem. Human nature is to simplify and advance. The nature of the Mega-system is to add complexity and obstruct.

If we want to advance change, have more freedom with less corporation manipulation and lies, simplification is the only way to change the pattern of decision making. Simplification is the way to transparency. Simplification is the way to combat manipulations and lies. Simplification also closes the chance for fraud. Our hope and direction as people on mass, should be to work for the simplification of these complex system,. It is the one thing I believe will lead us, into a better future for all mankind.

Life’s Gun Battles

Guns are fine, it’s the people who have them that are the issue. I have three friends who have been shot down in the street, and one that blew his head off with a 79 dollar Kmart shotgun. I don’t deny you your Second Amendment right. I want you to have it. But, suspicion and threat isn’t a reason to kill. Nor is depression.

When you’ve been shot at personally, come talk to me. When you’ve been held at gun point, (more than once) come talk to me. When you’ve provided aid to gunshot victims, come talk to me. When you’ve cleaned up the blood from repeated eruptions of violence,  come talk to me. When you’ve taken the gun from the hand of a man about to commit a murder, then come talk to me. When your friend sits in wheel chair, forever changed from being shot in the streets, then come talk to me. When one of your friends needs 9 surgeries,to save his life, from gun shot wounds to the belly, then come talk to me. When you testify in attempted murder trail, because your friend has been beat down by those who commit violence, while you’re held back so you can watch the beating, then come talk to me about what you really know about guns, and what they really do.

Come walk a mile in my shoes, with something besides what you read on board, and how you interpret it. Only then we will be on fair ground. Till them count yourselves lucky when you go to bed at night, that none of this has happened to you. Know you’re better off just seeing it on TV, as then you won’t get hurt. But when it’s you, and you have some reality besides what you read and see on the tube, then you can fairly tell me your opinions. Till then be happy. And know I pray, honestly pray, we never meet having these shared experiences as common ground.

I’ve scratched the surface of my experience here. How have you formed your opinions on guns and gun control?  I don’t think or believe it to be a bad thing for most. As most are and can be trustworthy and responsible.  But I have experience, that overshadows anything you can see on TV, or read on the web or in a paper.  It can even overwhelm my own good sense, when confronted with my own experience,  as to who should and shouldn’t have firearms. It’s tough to see your fellow-man shot down in the streets.

“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.” A quote from Isaac Asimov, a Vice President of Mensa International, in his day. A quote I believe to be true. But in using his words, and professing my agreement, the fully uneducated person I am, must not have thought it through. I must not have considered fully, as he did, the meaning of the words. I must not have tried to put the meaning of the words into practice in my own life. I must not have been able like he, to consider the morals and ethics, in the taking of  life.

I’ve seen enough. I don’t need to see any more, to judge myself and my fellow-man. It’s been shown to me. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. You see violence, it’s been the last refuge of the incompetent for a while now. Please though, continue to Judge me for my life experiences, as I’ve seen you Judge others in ignorance. I have an opinion forged  in the fires violence, tempered by real word experience. I don’t want to take anything from my fellows. What I wish for is reason and logic, in our decision-making processes. Not total denial of our rights.

What experiences do you have with Guns and/or Gun Violence,  helping to form your opinions and changing your life?

Hooray it’s Over, But it’s Really Not

Nothing like Election Day. The best part is the constant bombardment of politically motivated advertising ends. Can I get a Hip Hip Hooray? I’m so sick of it. I’m sure there are many like me. I mean, Good Lord, the waste of money. It really should piss off millions. Poor and rich folk alike. I really don’t think, even though I know my preferred “Third Party” candidate, for the top office, won’t win, that I’m much different than any other rational person on this issue. Excessive isn’t the word for it. It’s more than that. When I think of the “Real Good” that could have been accomplished with a billion dollars. It’s simply sad., and truly a national embarrassment.

In this sickness, a manipulation of people, I’d like to point out, to anyone who might read this, that there was a time, when we in our legal system, people could be property. We came to understand though, over time, our error. In that time there was an explosion. We call it a Civil War.

Though some issues were resolved, it was brutal and bloody. People, those who were slaves and the free alike, made it through. We as a country, recovered in many ways and began moving forward again. But the effects of this “War of Sides” still linger, even today, Even in spite of the many remarkable changes to our social structure and preconceived notions, over the many years since.

Now in our legal system, we’ve flip-flopped. A term we’ve heard too much, this election cycle. Here though, it fits well. The legal belief now is most easily stated as, Property transformed to living people.

Frankly this Magic Trick, has caused a division within the actual persons who populate our beautiful country. But even worse than that, for 6 months or more, it’s drove us all either insane, or toward the repeated consumption of strong drink. Something I recommend and fully support, to get one through the “Regular” nattering of political rhetoric.

This cycle has been anything but regular. In fact, while the rational tip a few to make it over the hump of these elections, we’ve sunk to new lows. Waste, total waste, on little more to those aware, than lies and manipulations. Even by foreign groups. I mean really? That crap just makes me sizzle, and it should. It also needs to, and should, STOP!!!!!

We do still have a choice, for those who can see past this media mind game. We speak up, explaining the media manipulation, and the mind game it plays, for those who can’t see through this fog. Taking a stand, and holding it, is a start. I can’t, and I hope others can’t either, just let this go for 2 or 4 years. When once again, the discussion becomes overshadowed, in the electioneering of new campaigns.

“We the People” are the words. The words are not, we the “people” which includes non-living legal entities and special interests. I mean get a grip. Any one of us, as being a real person understand what people are, being one ourselves. Those types of people, the ones you and I know and see everyday, the ones who have relationships, live and create through the process of biological procreation, should be our governments focus, Those are the people referred to in. the “We the People” in the preamble of the United States Constitution. That should have been obvious to anyone, who’s ever shook anybodies hand. But it wasn’t, so “We the People” real actual and true, must tell them continuously and without fail, until our elections are once again….. by and for the people.
